The Magical Maple Tree

Winner of the EMPIXX Gold Award

Created for young children, The Magical Maple Tree takes pre-school and early grades on a nine minute virtual maple sugaring trip, in the maple country of North Eastern North America. The legends of the Native Peoples, Colonial Sugarmaking, the art of Maple Production (old methods and modern technology), the Nutritional Benefits of natural maple products compared with imitation and artificial choices, are told by two story tellers, who are, themselves, children.

Young people will catch the excitement that rises with the sap during sugaring season, and they will be introduced to the back drop of mountains and forests that are the scenery which surrounds maple sugaring.

The Magical Maple Tree explains the scientific magic of maple sugaring, telling about the hard work that produces the wonderful, natural product, and the ways in which families work together to make their maple syrup.

The DVD prepares a young audience for a trip to a sugarhouse and sugarbush. An activities guide to the video is included within the jacket.
